GScan™2 Tamra labeled DNA molecular weight markers is a size standard developed for use with appropriate fluorescent genetic analyzers. This product has been tested on the Applied Biosystems fluorescence-based DNA electrophoresis systems. This product is specifically designed to have a high density of sized fragments 200bp to 300bp region. The use of an internal lane size standard is essential for achieving high run to run precision in sizing DNA fragments by electrophoresis. GScan™2 is composed of the 23 DNA fragments of the following sizes; 80, 100, 120, 140, 160, 180, 200, 210, 220, 230, 240, 250, 260, 275, 290, 320, 350, 365, 410, 440, 500, 560 and 605 bp. The GScan™2 Tamra labeled DNA molecular weight markers are stringently designed and contains purified fragments. These will yield consistent electrophoretic pattern under identical conditions with fragments containing nearly equimolar base composition. Caution should be exercised to determine fragment size of fragments that predominantly contain base repeats and high composition of individual bases. Specific examples are sizing the triple repeat amplified fragments.
